1st fam trip to Disney w/ DS3. Have never used Disney Trans. Have a adr @ AK @ 8:25 am & CRT @ 2:45 p.m. What time do we need to leave AK to make it to MK in time for CRT? Worried about reliablity of trans. We're driving so we will have a car.

    Hello Ellen,

I always rent a car when I go to Walt Disney World...but I am also very familiar with where I am going and how long it takes for me to drive to each location so this may not be as easy for you at first and may take a while to figure out.....although there are very good signs posted for directions within Walt Disney World and they are very large and (I think) easy to follow! My gut instinct would be to drive your own car (you get complimentary parking at the parks when you are a Walt Disney World Resort guest). If you opt to take the Disney transportation, my only suggestion would be to make sure you give yourselves plenty of time to get where you are going...count on situations that could arise for example: Did you just miss the bus and can you afford to wait another 20 minutes or so until the next one arrives? During peak season you may have long line-ups to deal with at all of the transportation stops, Will it be during the summer when the heat gets too much for your family and standing in long lines would be unbearable? etc...etc...  Just keep some of these things in mind and this is certainly not always the case, but it could happen.

As far as your breakfast reservation at Disney's Animal Kingdom, ask the reservations agent at your resort when you check-in about the transportation that may be available to you if it is outside of their regular scheduled hours (usually, 1 hour prior to park opening and 1 hour after park closing) As far as traveling to Magic Kingdom from Disney's Animal Kingdom I would use a 1 1/2-2 hour window (in my opinion!).  It is not fun to rush and if you are driving your own car you can certainly shorten this window as you will get there well before the buses. There are many attractions to experience if you have some spare time before your lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.....enjoy this by the way, it's one of our favorites!

    Have a magical day!
