    Erica from MI Asked

Fam of 4; 2yo & 7yo. What are some good rides, tours, activities and dining options for my family? (Restaurants that are not too pricy.)

    Hi Erica,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am happy to see that you are busy planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, review the Planning for Pre-School Kids and Little Ones guide. Given the ages of your children, here are my tips for rides and attractions at each park:

    • Magic Kingdom - Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Tomorrowland Speedway, Astro Orbiter, The Barnstormer (check the height requirement!), Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Swiss Family Treehouse and Tom Sawyer Island
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Land - check the height requirements for Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom - Na'vi River Journey, Avatar Flight of Passage (your 7-year old might be tall enough), Kilimanjaro Safaris and The Festival of the Lion King show
    • Epcot - Frozen Ever After, Soarin' Around the World, Test Track (again, check height requirements)

On our last visit, we also did the Caring for Giants Tour and it was perfect for our girls who were 10-years old at the time. They loved the behind-the-scenes look at the elephants! Also, if you have any princesses with you, be sure to check out Disney Princesses at Walt Disney World Resort.

Erica, our girls still love character meals. Our favorites and more affordable ones have been at The Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine (we do a pre-park opening dining reservation here to sign-up early for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple). ABC Commissary, Sunshine Seasons, Be Our Guest (breakfast and lunch) and Satu'li Canteen are good quick-service options.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
