Fam will be on the Free DP (upgraded to 1 TS + 1 QS) on our next visit. Are we able to eat lunch at a table service restaurant (Plaza Rest), use a QS credit and somehow pay a difference in cost?

Hello Alison!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question.  I love the Disney Dining Plan and it is even better when you can get it for free.

Quick Service meal credits can only be used at Quick Service dining locations.  You wont be able to use your Quick Service credits combined with extra money at any Table Service dining locations.  If you want to eat at more Table Service meals than you have credits for, you will need to pay for those additional meals completely out of pocket.  We use the Disney Dining Plan each trip we take to Walt Disney World and the credit allotment works out really well for my family.  Generally, we use our Quick Service credits for lunches and our Table Service Credits for either a character breakfast or a nice sit down dinner.  If you are set on multiple sit down meals a day, check into the Deluxe Dining Plan.   I find 1 sit down meal a day is plenty while at Walt Disney World, the portions are quite large.  There is so much food while on the Disney Dining Plan, you wont go hungry.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.  Have a great day.

I love all-things-Walt Disney World! No trip is complete without a few carrot cake cookies, Dole Whip Floats, thrill rides with my 7-year-old, Pin Trading and finding Hidden Mickeys with my husband. I may have a small family but we are always ready for some BIG fun on our next Walt Disney World vacation! Learn More About Jackie
