Hi Fab DMs! We have booked MK view for 1nt NY'sE 2012 at Grand Floridian (2ads, 2kids 8+11) and are wondering what tips you might offer? Where to eat, what to make the most of? We are all super excited about staying there and don't want to miss a thing!

Oh my goodness, Kerri, I am so excited for you!  That is my dream New Years Eve!

I like to lay low on New Years Eve at Walt Disney World.  If we're going into the theme parks, I usually like to do it early in the day.  There are lots of other people hoping to ring in the New Year, and they'll all be heading into the theme parks, so the earlier you get there, the better your chances are of seeing and doing all you have planned.

If you're looking for a really nice dinner at your resort, I can recommend the fabulous Citricos or the equally as wonderful Narcoosse's.  Both offer a variety of delicious meals to suit any palate, and I like that the menu for children includes options that go beyond chicken nuggets (although you will find them also!).

If you want to do the park for the evening, I cannot recommend highly enough that you choose a park where you want to be when the clock strikes midnight and stay there.  Scope out your spot for the parades or fireworks, plan to grab something to eat in the park, and then head back to your hotel.

For a really special experience, though, I would head back to my room at the Grand Floridian, order up some nice hors d'oeuvres or a decadent dessert, and watch the fireworks from that Magic Kingdom view room!

I hope whatever you end up planning that you have the best time ringing in the NEXT new year!
