Hi, for extra magic hours (staying at GC), is the other park usually less crowded? Should we enjoy the EMH and rope drop at the offered park, then hop to the other to avoid crowds some? Going 6/8-14, so I know it will be crowded! Thanks !

    Hi there, Christine!

Thanks again for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love that you are going to be staying on property at my favorite Disneyland Resort Hotel!

The Extra Magic Hour benefit of being a Disneyland Resort Hotel Guest is priceless. This is when we are able to experience our favorite attractions with little to no wait time, so I'm glad you plan on taking advantage of this hour each day! While the summer months are popular for Guests, they are not always as busy as you might be expecting, and I have experienced many summer days with low crowds. Plus, with some tips, you can enjoy the parks and maximize your experiences without spending too much time waiting in attraction and food lines.

There really isn't a "best" way to experience the parks each day, and crowd levels are pretty comparable in both parks on any given day. My best tip is to keep an eye on the Disneyland app to view real-time wait times for attractions in both parks. If you are enjoying your morning at your Extra Magic Hour Park, then feel free to stay. If you see low wait times in the other park for things you want to experience, then feel free to hop over. With the two parks in such close proximity, you can park hop within minutes. At the Disneyland Resort, you can be quite spontaneous and still have an amazing time. The way to really maximize your day without worry is to add the Disney MaxPass feature to your Disneyland app. This allows you to make FASTPASS selections for either park (when you have a Park Hopper ticket) throughout the day. Don't forget the Mobile Order feature on the Disneyland app to bypass lines at Quick Service restaurants in both parks.

I hope this helps, and remember you've got a friend in me here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
