I will have the extended family with me on a future trip to Disney World. I'm thinking of a night time gathering at the California Grill for fireworks and drinks. Can we just go up? Or do we need a reservation for dinner?

Hi Jamie! The California Grill has a spectacular view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks! For this reason and the fact that the food there is fabulous, the California Grill is a very popular restaurant that usually books up well in advance. The restaurant does have a lounge area that's available to guests on a first-come basis; you could try walking up to the check-in podium to see if there would be availability in the lounge for your family. However, since it sounds like you're traveling with a large group, I recommend that you make a reservation for the California Grill; doing so is the the best way to ensure that you'll all be able to view the fireworks from the restaurant that evening.
