    Lola Asked

My ext family and I, with two kids ages 3 and 7 mos, are looking into visiting Disneyland over Thanksgiving week. We would like to go from Tue-Fri. How are the crowds at this time and what is the weather is usually like?

    Hi, Lola!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question. November can be a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort because the entertainment schedule is in full swing and holiday decorations and other seasonal extras begin appearing around the resort. The holiday decor is gradually added at night when the parks are closed and is largely complete by mid-November. The high temperatures are usually in the mid-70s, with evenings in the mid-50s.

Thanksgiving week is usually quite crowded because many schools aren’t in session and families are more likely to be traveling. The day after Thanksgiving is often one of the busiest of the year, but don’t let your excitement be lessened! Park hours will be long and the entertainment schedule will be bustling, so you should have lots of opportunities to see and do everything on your list. My advice is to stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel so you’re as close to the parks as possible and able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. Be sure to also utilize Disney’s FastPass system when available to optimize your time, and make dining reservations for any table-service meals you’d like to enjoy. Check out Disneyland.com in advance and have a touring plan in mind so can you hit all of your family’s “must-do” attractions and shows.

I hope this helps, Lola, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
