We are experiencing our first trip to WDW and we leave Sat. We have tickets to the Not so scary Halloween party. We want to go to the Haunted Mansion, is this something I should use a FP for?

Hello Brad.  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so excited for you to be experiencing your first Walt Disney World vacation.  It is such a magical place, I just know you are going to have a great time.

I think it is an excellent choice to experience Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on your first visit. It is one of my favorite extra things to do at Walt Disney World.  During the party, FastPass+ selections will not be available.  Because you need a separate ticket to this event, crowds are typically much lower than during the day at Magic Kingdom.  In my experience, we have been able to walk on most attractions with little to no wait time.  Because the Haunted Mansion fits so well with the theme of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this is one of the most popular attractions during the party.  My suggestion to you would be to either make that one of the first things you do during the party or wait it out till later in the night when the crowd thins down.

Did you know that even though the party starts officially at 7:00 p.m., your party ticket lets you into Magic Kingdom at 4:00 p.m.?  I love taking advantage of the few extra hours in the park and I hope you do the same!  If I can help you with anything else before you leave, please feel free to ask me.  Have a great vacation!

Oh, one more thing!  If you like character meet and greets, be sure to get a picture with the Seven Dwarfs.  They are only out during the party, so a picture with them is rare.  They are so much fun and one of my favorite things about the party.
