we want to experience Disney World at Christmas time. We don't want to be there for Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. We want to know if early November would give us the same experience. we want to stay at DVC wilderness lodge will it give us a good theme too

    Hi Ardola,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Walt Disney World during the winter holidays is truly a beautiful and magical place.  My family and I visited in December last year, and we loved seeing not only the theme parks but also the resort hotels decorated for the season.

Typically, winter holiday decorations start to go up at the beginning of November at Walt Disney World.  My family and I were just at Walt Disney World the first week of November, and more and more each day, we could see the Magic Kingdom Park transforming into a holiday wonderland.  Since the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was on November 7 this year, Magic Kingdom Park was ready to go with holiday splendor at that time!  I will let you know that the resort hotels were not fully decorated for Christmas by this time, and I do find that a trip to Walt Disney World at the holidays is made even more amazing once the resorts are decorated.  If you can wait until a little later in November, you will likely find more of these holiday decorations complete.  If you are trying to avoid the crowds that come with the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, you could also consider early in December as a good time to visit with lower crowds than on the holidays.

Both Disney's Wilderness Lodge and The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are generally beautifully decorated for the holidays.  The rustic feel of these resorts, replete with dark wood, are a lovely backdrop for the traditional deep greens, reds, and sparkle of Christmas.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Ardola.  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
