We’re so excited for GE to open this summer &kids can’t wait to use Datapad in Play app! Can I put the app on each kid’s phone so they’re not fighting over mine? Right now I’m only one w/ a MDE account—will they need their own? Pls help me keep peace

Hi, Karen!  Thanks for stopping by with this great question.

It sounds like the Force is strong with your family, so I'm very happy that you will soon have the opportunity to visit Black Spire Outpost and live out your own Star Wars adventure.  I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland Resort last week when their Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opened.  As a life-long Star Wars fan, I can tell you that this new land exceeded all of my expectations.  Words cannot even describe the thrill of piloting the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, so I am glad that you will get to experience this for yourself once Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The level of detail in this new land is unlike anything you've ever experienced before, and the Play Disney Parks mobile app really adds to the immersive experience.  The Star Wars: Datapad on the Play Disney Parks mobile app brings guests further into the stories they are living out when they visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  Your Datapad has many functions that you can utilize while exploring Black Spire Outpost.  You can use it to translate galactic languages or to scan crates and other objects found throughout the land.  The Datapad can also be used to tune into communications sent by the planet's residents.  You can even use it to hack into the land's devices, control panels, and droids.  While using your Datapad, you will have the opportunity to pledge your loyalty to the First Order or support the Resistance, and you can even complete jobs to receive digital rewards.

You can download the Play Disney Parks mobile app on each of your family members' phones.  The Play Disney Parks mobile app allows you to list multiple players under one My Disney Experience account, so your kids should be able to each play using your account.  In order to list multiple players, tap the Mickey icon on the upper left corner of your screen when you open your Play Disney Parks app.  Next, go to "Manage Players" and click "Add a Player."  When you've added everyone, click "Confirm Party," and you're all set.

Wishing you and your family many amazing adventures in a galaxy far, far away.  May the Force be with you!
