Hi all! I am so very excited that we (fiancé & 6yo daughter) planned a vacation to Disney for the end of July! What are some essentials that I should take in the parks with us? Especially for the hot days! Thanks!

    Hi Amanda!

I love visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at any time of the year, but during those warmer months, I always leave the parks covered in both pixie dust and sweat!  Even though the heat is pretty much unavoidable, there are some ways to stay cool!

I always make sure to put water bottles in the mini-refrigerator in my room the night before we go to the parks.  I take it out in the morning right before we leave and put it into my insulated water bottle holder.  This usually helps get me through the morning hours!  Complimentary ice water is also available at most of the Quick Service dining locations throughout the parks, and I always bring a cooling towel with me for when I need a little refreshment during the heat!  Of course, don't forget comfortable shoes!

Make sure you also take advantage of FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours!  If you plan your days well, you can enjoy the parks in the cooler temperatures of the morning and evening, then enjoy the resort pool in the heat of the afternoon without missing anything!  If you plan to be in the parks all day, schedule a Table Service meal, a water ride like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids, or a great indoor show like one of my favorites, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, to help you cool off!  In Epcot, make sure you visit Club Cool where you can sample sodas from around the world!  Be sure to check out some of these other awesome tips from some of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists on how to stay cool!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!

Hi y’all!  I am an Army wife, a college instructor, a dog-mom, and a lover of all things Disney!  Planning a Disney vacation is my favorite pastime—other than actually going on a Disney vacation, of course—and I love helping others make the most of their magical trip!  If I am not at the Walt Disney World Resort, I am putting the pixie-dusted touches on my next trip!
