Hello am so excited my family will be coming in July 2013. What I want to know about is the park hopper passes and how they work exactly? And if I should invest in water park tickets since we have a pool at the Disney Resort and what places do you suggest

    Hi Tia,

It's a great time to start planning for your July trip to Walt Disney World!

There are four Walt Disney World theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. If you purchase a base ticket, you will be able to visit one park per day. You can change parks from day to day, but not within a day. The park hopper option allows you to visit multiple parks in one day - so for example you can go see the animals bright and early at Disney's Animal Kingdom, head back to your resort for a mid-day break, and then go to Epcot at night to view Illuminations.
Some families only want to visit one park per day - in which a case a base ticket is just right for you. The park hopper is for those who want to visit multiple parks per day.

As to water park tickets - you are correct, the Walt Disney World resorts do have amazing pools. The deluxe and moderate resorts have water slides, and some resorts, such as Stormalong Bay at Disney's Beach Club Resort, are truly amazing and almost like mini-water parks with wonderful themes, slides, and Stormalong Bay even has sand! That said - Walt Disney World's water parks are amazing. My seven-year-old daughter requests a trip to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach each time we are at Walt Disney World. These are almost like theme parks with water. You can spend an entire day at either riding amazing slides and even water coasters. Whether you chose to purchase water park tickets depends on your family. If you want an entire day of fun and excitement in the water, then yes, I would go to a water park. If your family is simply looking to spend a few hours of relaxation by a nice pool, then the pool at your Walt Disney World resort will be absolutely lovely.

Happy planning, Tia!  Please do not hesitate to come back and ask if you have any further questions.
