Hello! We are so excited to enjoy Disney World! Can we still park for free on the first day of our arrival if we are not checking in to the on-site resort until 3pm? We would like to be at Magic Kingdom right when they open and not waste time or money.

    Hey, Alyssa!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad you asked this question.

Guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels and annual pass holders may park at no charge at theme park parking lots. The Cast Members parking attendants will not know if you may enter for free unless you have the Disney Resort hotel parking pass or an annual pass.

My suggestion is to go immediately to your on-property hotel, leave your luggage with bell services to deliver to your room when your room is ready, get your parking pass and head straight to Magic Kingdom Park. This will save the current $20.00/day parking fee (fees may change at any time). If you did Online Resort Check-In then you should receive a text when your room is ready and head straight there after a fun day of Disney adventure.

If you want to take Disney Complimentary Resort Transportation then take the parking pass, put it in your vehicle and jump on the next bus or boat or monorail. Oh my!

Disney Dad Tip: Make sure to pack a theme park bag that you can quickly separate from your luggage. Included in the bag should be your MagicBands to get into the theme parks and any other special snacks or items like sunscreen and autograph books.

Alyssa, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
