Hi everyone I am new to this, my husband wants for me to plan a vacation for our family for 2018. How early do I need to start looking into it, we will have with us a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Can anyone give some advice please. Thanks

    Hello Ioana,

As you begin your planning for your first Walt Disney World vacation, you have come to the right place. I would love to offer some suggestions for how to get started. It is never too early to get started, even if just with research.

First, I would suggest visiting the Walt Disney World Vacation and Ideas Planning page. This official site will give you recommendations based on your vacation style and party size. Deciding on a budget and travel dates will also make a great springboard for the planning process. Next, I would recommend buying a travel planning guide. My personal favorite is the Birnbaum Guide: Walt Disney World. This guide has fantastic descriptions of resorts, attractions, restaurants and more. It also has sample itineraries, budgets, and helpful hints for packing.

When you are ready to book, you will want to decide if you would like to purchase a package that bundles different aspects of the trip such as dining plans, tickets, and resort hotels. You can also find discounts through AAA, if you are a member. Be sure to check out the special offers page on the Walt Disney World site for different promotional packages that vary throughout the year.

Be sure to set up a My Disney Experience account when you decide to get started. This will help keep all of your reservations and plans together. You will also use the account for booking dining reservations, FastPass+ selections.

I hope this helps get you started. Please feel free to stop back by as your planning continues. We would love to offer our suggestions for dining, resorts, and more.
