Does everyone have to eat when making a reservation? My mom would like to see the kids reaction to the character breakfasts but will not eat. She eats at 430 every morning lol. Just wondering if she would have to miss out by not ordering food.

    Hi Travis,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question! My mom is an extremely early riser too, so I totally understand where your question is coming from!

From what I understand, all character dining locations are buffet or family style meals. What that means is, while your mother can definitely join your party for your dining reservation, she will be charged the full price for the experience, regardless of how much she does (or doesn’t) eat during her meal.

What I would recommend: either make a reservation for a dinner or lunch character meal OR book a very late breakfast for a time after 10:00 am (or thereabouts, depending on the dining location). Even if your Mom was up before the roosters, she’ll likely be hungry by then and then everyone can enjoy a great meal filled with Disney magic!

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
