Are there essential elements of the standby queue that we would miss if we had fastpass+ for Avatar Flight of Passage?

    Kaltxi, Justin!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I think Pandora – The World of Avatar is my favorite land at Walt Disney World right now. The Valley of Mo’ara is absolutely breathtaking, and there are so many incredible details throughout the land that tell the story of the Na’vi people.

In my opinion, Justin, if you have a FastPass+ reservation for Avatar – Flight of Passage, you should definitely use it for the attraction. Waits can be very long, and it’s worth it to bypass the standby queue if you can. My first time on Avatar – Flight of Passage, I was lucky enough to have a FastPass+ reservation, and I understood the story of the attraction, it felt immersive, and I loved every minute of my banshee ride.

You will, however, miss one of the most beautiful and detailed queues at Walt Disney World when you have a FastPass+ reservation. In the standby queue, you move through various rooms depicting different parts of the land's backstory. As you walk through the queue, you begin to understand that the Na'vi revere the natural beauty of their home, the story of how RDA (the colonizers from the movie) deeply damaged the Pandoran landscape, and how the Pandora Conservation Institute are working to rebuild. Right before you merge with the FastPass+ queue, you’ll walk through a Pandora Conservation Institute laboratory, where you'll see a spectacular audio-animatronic Na’vi along with some other really fascinating lab specimens.

While those details and theming really are incredible, I still advise using FastPass+ for the attraction because of the wait times. You will still be able to fully enjoy your banshee adventure, and have some extra time to explore Pandora (don't miss the pineapple lumpia at Pongu Pongu!).

    Sivako!
