Hi Erin! 8/11 wdw w/dd turning 14&ds15.DD picky eater.Want to do bothCRT&Akerhaus.Which meal @ these rest would be best to make everyone happy,B,L or D?Also which restaurant in EP serves basic mex food?ex taco,burritos/quesillas

    Hi Sherri -

Let me answer your second question first. There are three restaurants at Epcot that serve Mexican food. The counter-service venue, La Cantina de San Angel, has the menu that is perhaps closest to basic Tex-Mex offerings you might know from restaurants at home. The offerings here include beef or chicken tacos, nachos, and empanadas. The San Angel inn has substantial plates with traditional Mexican dishes: crispy shrimp with Guajillo sauce and grilled chicken over red peppers and onions. La Hacienda San Angel, the newest table service restaurant at Walt Disney World, brings a modern take to Mexican cuisine. Sample dishes here are fried shrimp over flour tortillas and grilled tilapia over roasted corn. I dined at La Hacienda for the first time about a month ago with my three daughters. Between the three of us, we shared two Parrilladas. The first was a griddle plate with flank steak, chicken and chorizo. The second was a griddle plate with mahi-mahi, shrimp, and scallops. Both came with beans, rice, veggies, and tortillas - a bit like a fajitas. All were super yummy. You can find the reviews of these restaurants on disneyfoodblog.com and complete menus on allears.net and wdwinfo.com.

As for your first question - For picky eaters, I almost always recommend breakfast. Usually breakfast presents the most familiar options eggs, pastry, bacon, waffles or pancakes. Again, reviews and complete menus are available at the sites above, you can take a look and see which items are most appealing to your picky eater. However, I have to say that two princess meals for a teen boy seems like overkill to me. If you're determined to do one, I'd choose the Royal Table and then substitute something like Sci-Fi Dine-In, Whispering Canyon Cafe, or even a signature meal for the other.

    Good luck with your planning!
