Erin, HI! We will be there 1st time 4/19-2/19:We r are thinking of Beaches & Cream for 1st day arrival goodies. Is the 'kitchen sink' too much for a family of 5? Does the table service cover that as a dessert on one TS meal? We are on the BDP.

The Kitchen Sink is a HUGE ice cream sundae sized to feed a group. I have a family of five and have gotten the Sink at least half a dozen times over the years. The answer to the "too big" question depends a lot on your family and their appetites. When my three girls small and we had the sundae as dessert, we were not able to finish the Sink. However, we were not really expecting to finish it -- we had ordered it more for the entertainment factor rather than the food factor. (Though I must say that it does taste pretty great.)

On one occasion, the five of us decided to have just the Sink as our lunch (crazy decadent, I know). We alllmoooost polished it off. (The girls were about ages 7, 7 and 10 at the time.) More recently, I had the Sink for dessert with the five of us, plus my parents. This was four adults and three kids ages 9, 9, and 12, and we did consume the entire thing.

If you have teens, you'll probably come close to finishing it. If you have preschoolers, you probably won't. But to me, it doesn't really matter. The whole point is the fun and indulgence of it. When you order the Sink, the lights in the restaurant are dimmed and your server will make a show of announcing that the Sink includes a WHOLE CAN OF WHHHHHIIIIPPPPED CREAM. Just watch your kids' eyes go wide when they see it.

As for the dining plan part of your question -- unfortunately, the Kitchen Sink is not available as part of the dining plan. You are welcome to order it if you are on the Plan, but you will have to pay for it out of pocket. The most recent pricing I saw for the sink was approximately $27.

    Have fun!
