Erin, my fiancee and I are coming to DW for our wedding/honeymoon for 3 weeks. with our wedding pkg we receive APs, do you think the TinW card would be worth it for our trip? I don't know that we'll get back before our APs expire

First of all -- Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You must be so excited!

In order to determine whether the Tables in Wonderland Card makes sense for you, you need to do a little math based on your own personal dining habits. The current cost for a TiW card for annual passholders is $75. This gives you a 20% discount on food and beverage (including alcohol) at most, but not all, WDW table service restaurants, for up to a party of 10 people. But I'm guessing there will only be two of you on this trip :-)

To make the card pay out, you have spend more than $375. (20% of $375 = your $75 outlay for the TiW card.) After you've recouped your expenditure, you're getting pure savings. When I travel with my family of five (or sometimes more) we often spend more than $375 on food in a single day, so the choice is a no-brainer for us. Your next step is to figure out if you'll be spending that much over the course of your trip. A great way to do this is to look at the WDW restaurant menus that can be found on allears.net. Look at some of the restaurants you'd like to dine at and make rough guesses at what you might order. For example, take a look at the menu for Jiko. If you share an Artisan Cheese Platter appetizer, you order the grilled swordfish, you hubby orders the filet mignon, you share a chocolate cheesecake dessert and split a $40 bottle of wine, your total bill would be approximately $140. Have a fancy meal like that three times and you've made the TiW card work. If you're staying for short visit or are particularly light eaters, then it might not make sense. You really have to think about it based on your own dining preferences.

For more information you can call the TiW office directly at 407-566-5858 or email them at wdw.disney.dining.experience@disney.com.
