Erin, did you enjoy the Backstage Magic or the Keys to the Kingdom tour more? I'm going in Aug '10 for my wedding and I thought my new DH and I might enjoy a tour but the BM tour has so-so reviews on allears, but K2K seems like a hit more often, thoughts?

I have been on both the Backstage Magic tour and the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I truly thought that both of these were top-notch experiences - well worth the price tag to me.

Personally, I enjoyed the Backstage Magic tour more, mostly because it was longer and I got to see more "off beat" backstage areas, as well as backstage areas at three of the four parks. The exact tour may vary slightly depending on the season, but some of the areas I saw on the Backstage Magic tour that were not on the Keys tours were: cast areas at Epcot including locker and wardrobe rooms, costume design areas, ride maintenance and repair areas, sign painting areas, the florist department, wigs rooms, and the ride operation facilities at the Tower of Terror. These were unforgettable experiences for a Disney geek like me.

That being said, I do have to say that the Backstage Magic tour was long. It really takes up an entire day of your vacation. i took the tour on my own, and I'm glad I did -- I don't think my husband would have had the patience for it. I did bring my hubby on the Keys to the Kingdom tour with me. He enjoyed this quite a lot and I think it was just the right amount of information and exploration for a person like him who is probably an 8 on a scale of Disney geek-ness. For a 9 or a 10 level Disney geek -- or an 11 like me :-) -- then the Backstage Magic is the way to go.

If you're looking for other great tour experiences at WDW, I have also enjoyed the Behind the Seeds tour at the Land pavilion at Epcot and hubby and I both LOVED the Epcot Segway experience. There are also tours backstage at the Animal Kingdom. Those are on my agenda to try on a trip I have planned for July 2010.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and have a wonderful WDW honeymoon!
