Is there an equivalent of the hospitality suite in the garden wing at contemporary resorts in the main building.

    Hi Sharon!

I'm excited that you're asking about Disney's Contemporary Resort as it was high on my Disney Bucket List to stay there someday, a dream that came true this past March! A Hospitality Suite is usually a bed-less private guest space that features a living room, dining room and full kitchen. When not at Walt Disney World Resort, regular (boring) hotels use these spaces as post-wedding all-family brunch locations or after-conference lounge spaces. Hospitality Suites also usually have connecting doors to one, two or three guest rooms to, like you said, become a huge all-family overnight suite.

Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel is one of the original Walt Disney World Resort 'Opening Day' buildings that debuted with Magic Kingdom Park on October 1, 1971. There are definitely traditional one and two bedroom suites on the Club Level floors (floors 12 and 14) of the main A-frame building that do have a living room space and food area. (Look at the pictures of the 'Bay Lake View - 2 Bedroom Suite - Club Level) However, because of the buildings age there are some modifications that can't be made, so the 'food areas' do have full-size refrigerators, but do not have any other kitchen appliances. These rooms are also only available with Bay Lake views.

Disney recognized the desire for resort hotel rooms where the entire family can be together, so they opened Bay Lake Tower in 2009. Connected to the Contemporary, the Villas in Bay Lake Tower do feature full kitchens (microwave, oven, dishwasher) as well as pull out living room furniture. The 1 bedroom has room for five and the 2 bedroom sleeps nine. You can even view photos under the room name.

I hope this helped, Sharon, and We'll See You Real Soon!
