We are going to Epcot on 7/4/18. We dont want to arrive too early because we think our boys (11 & 9) will get bored but want to see the fireworks. How late is it recommended to arrive and still have a chance to get into the park?

    Hi Erika,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love Fourth of July celebrations, and Walt Disney World is a great place to enjoy all the patriotic flare.

The Fourth of July holiday time is a popular week for visiting Walt Disney World, and Magic Kingdom is typically the most popular of the theme parks as Guests come to enjoy the nighttime fireworks spectacular Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.

Choosing when to arrive at Epcot will really depend on whether or not you are only visiting for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth or whether you also plan to take in other attractions and entertainment. The online Park Hours calendar will show you the schedule for the theme parks, parades, events, and fireworks. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is scheduled for 9 p.m. There's a lot to see and do and experience. My personal suggestion would be to arrive early in the morning to enjoy the attractions with FastPass+ and the special holiday entertainment, give yourselves a mid-day break, then return to enjoy a dining reservation and to then find your favorite viewing spot at least a couple of hours in advance. It's helpful to keep in mind that you'll want not only a clear view of World Showcase Lagoon but of the skies above. I also suggest allowing extra time to get around to accommodate lines for transportation, bag checks, and making your way through the parks.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is one of my personal favorites among the fireworks shows, and the event is sure to please. Here's wishing you a spectacular Fourth of July.

    Enjoy your Disney!
