Hi Emma, I am going to wdw from uk for 2 weeks with my hubby and 6yr old boy and 4 yr old girl, I am worrying that they will tire very quickly can you help me as to how many rest days we should include and would you class the wdw water parks as a rest day?

    Hi Kelly,

It's lovely to receive a question from a fellow Brit!

I remember having the exact same concern when I visited Walt Disney World with my Son for the first time when he was 6-years old. I have to say, that he has always coped with the long days, warm weather and general amount of walking extremely well - much better than I ever expected him to.

In order to get the most out of your time at the Disney Parks, I would recommend that you plan to get to each park in time for park opening. You will be amazed at just how many attractions you will be able to experience during the first couple of hours before many Guests arrive for the day.

If your little ones start to get tired early afternoon, you can head back to your hotel for a couple of hours and let them recharge their batteries with a nap or a swim in the pool.

If you find that they are tiring very quickly, you could consider renting a stroller and letting them take turns to have a rest in it. The current stroller rental fee is:
    • $15.00 USD per day for a single-passenger stroller
    • $31.00 USD per day for a double-passenger stroller
There is a slightly reduced fee for Guests who require a stroller rental for multiple days where you make a one-time payment transaction for as many days of rental as you will need.

My family do tend to class days at the Disney Water Parks as rest days and I try to slot then in evenly so say on days 5 & 9 of a two week stay for example.

I think that you will be fine to plan on visiting a Theme Park or Water Park each day so long as you are prepared to head back to your hotel for a few hours or rent a stroller for your children (if needed).

If I can be of any further help with the planning of your trip, please feel free to ask me another question.

Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
