Where is the most economical, yet decent place to stay for 2 nights? and if we've never been to Disney (2 girls ages 6 & 8) are Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom good parks to start with? Can we rent a stroller for our 8 mo old at Disney?

    Jenny:

I would consider all of Disney's Value Resorts way above "decent." You will be amazed at the cleanliness of these hotels as well as their landscaping, pools, and lobbies. With girls ages 6 and 8, I'd recommend booking All-Star Movies and requesting the Toy Story section or All-Star Music, especially if they are performers.

If you're only coming for two days, iconic Magic Kingdom would definitely top your list of "Must-Dos." I would second your decision on Animal Kingdom IF your girls are animal lovers. However, be aware that the park is very large, so they will get tired and has very few "rides" in comparison to the Magic Kingdom. Most shows will take up about an hour from queue to exit. Additionally, the park closes  earlier than the other parks, so if you're wanting to squeeze the most out of your two days, you may want to consider Disney's Hollywood Studios.

DHS appeals to families whose children know Disney, not for Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto but its more recent characters like Princess Sophia, Lightning McQueen, along with Frozen's Anna and Elsa. If your girls are taller than 40", they'll be able to ride most everything in the park except for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (48"). Like Animal Kingdom, it has a number of shows: Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones, and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, just to name a few.

The strollers at the parks are not padded and are for children who can sit up on their own. I wouldn't recommend it for your 8-month-old. You may want to consider buying one of the umbrella strollers Disney offers at the resorts or plan on bringing your own.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
