Hi, Courtney!
The Walt Disney World Resort is a wonderful place to celebrate your son’s birthday. Your first visit to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is particularly memorable, especially when you’re celebrating a special occasion!
Be sure to pick up a complimentary celebration button when you check in to your hotel or at the one of the Vacation Planning Booths in the parks. It can be customized with your son's name so he’ll receive personalized wishes from Cast Members during your visit. You may also want to call the resort in advance (be sure to have your reservation information handy) so a Cast Member can add a note in the system that you’ll be celebrating.
Another way to make your arrival day magical is to work with the team at Disney Floral & Gifts so special Disney gifts and surprises will be waiting in your room. There are many gift baskets, bouquets and treats that can be customized for a special occasion, favorite Disney character, or theme. You room can also be decorated to look like Mickey and the gang stopped by to welcome your family and kick off your son’s birthday with some extra pixie dust! Call (407) WDW-GIFT (939-4438) to plan a unique in-room surprise for him. For an extra-special treat, you can also order a custom bakery cake to enjoy after your meal at most table-service restaurants by calling (407) 827-2253.
If your plane is expected to land in Orlando at 3:00 p.m. and you will be traveling to a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel via
Disney’s Magical Express Transportation, I would estimate that you'll arrive at your hotel around 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. local time.
Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney B.
