Hi all. Is it easy or hard to get a table for table service resturaunts without a reservation? I made reservations but may need to change them depending when the firework shows are. DD's 17&12 R pooh lovers will they like the crystal palace ? Thanks :

    Hi Anna,

I'll answer the "easy" question first if that's ok.  YES!  If your daughters love Winnie the Pooh, then Crystal Palace should be a favorite dining spot.  While you eat, Winnie and his pals Piglet, Tiger and Eeyore visit everyone's tables.  It can take about 45 minutes for all of the characters to make their way to every table (they cycle through the restaurant), so plan on spending about an hour at whatever meal you plan there.  The food is served buffet-style and is all-you-care to eat.

Regarding whether advanced dining reservations (ADRs) are necessary, the answer depends on a number of factors.  First, I'd consider the time of year that you are travelling.  If you are going during a peak season, then I would strongly encourage reservations, as many table-service restaurants will reach capacity, and a "walk-in" won't be possible (or, will have a really long wait.)  During value seasons, walk-ins are possible at some restaurants, but the most popular establishments can still fill up.  Dining at "off-peak" times of day can help get a table as well.  Having lunch and/or dinner early or late will increase your odds of landing a table without a reservation.  Another tip is keeping (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) programmed onto your cell phone.  This way, if your plans change mid-day, you can attempt to modify your reservations.  I have found that by calling the dining line, our odds of getting a table quickly are much higher than by simply walking up to the hostess desk (even if you make your ADR as you walk toward the restaurant.)  Finally, in the past, when Disney has offered a "free dining" promotion, ADRs are critical (and I mean critical).  This promotion, as you can imagine, really fills up the restaurants.  It's not being offered currently, but keep this in mind in the event it is when you visit.

    Have a wonderful trip!
