What is the easiest way to learn about fast passes? I'm taking my 2.5 and 5.5 year old girls to Disney World this spring. We are going for a short time and will only do a few rides. Think we need fast passes?

    ChEARs Emily!

Thanks for bringing such a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. My littles are five and seven, and we've been bringing them to the Parks since they were babes. The FastPass+ system is THE way to navigate the Parks when you have short attention spans!

I definitely think you should plan on utilizing the system for your upcoming visit. FastPass+ is a way for you to pre-select three attractions per Park per day where you can skip the standby line. You get to do this before you arrive (30 days before for Guests not staying on property, 60 days for Resort Hotel Guests), which allows you to layout your day. I think a plan is always best with little ones, and this enables you to plan attractions, entertainment, and rest time all before you arrive!

You didn't indicate which Park you are visiting, but I am going to assume that it's Magic Kingdom Park since your precious babes are preschool age! You are going to love Fantasyland; it is MADE for the littles! I would suggest FastPasses for Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Peter Pan's Flight, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (if your 2.5-yEAR-old is tall enough). If she's not tall enough for the train, I think a visit to a Princess is in order! My kiddos love Enchanted Tales with Belle and "it's a small world," both of which usually have shorter wait times, so we don't often pick those for FastPasses. Also, the standby queue at Dumbo the Flying Elephant has an air-conditioned playpark that's super fun, so my kiddos prefer the regular line there!

Once you've finished your three initial FastPass+ selections, you can get one at a time via the My Disney Experience app. We usually get to skip at least one or two more lines this way. Emily, I've included a few videos explaining the FastPass+ process in the links, I hope you find them helpful. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back.
