Early planning 2018-19 guests. How's April for crowds/weather?Traveling with elderly parents who cannot walk/ tolerate heat long. Any activities that may be fun for all ages (3-70 ) but works for them. Rented scooter last visit which was great help.

    Hi Christine,

Walt Disney World is an excellent place for a multi-generational vacation because there's so much to entertain family members of all ages. And April is an ideal time of the year. Temperatures are usually mild (highs in the low 80s, lows in the 60s) with only occasional rain.

One thing to be aware of if you want to avoid crowds: The parks and resorts tend to be very busy the week before and the week after Easter.

I have a few suggestions for activities the whole family might enjoy.

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival in the spring includes beautiful flora and topiaries, special concerts, playgrounds, butterfly garden and food.

Dinner shows such as the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue are also great fun for all ages. So are the Broadway style shows such as Finding Nemo: The Musical and Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom and Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage at Hollywood Studios.

You may find two pages on the Walt Disney World website useful in your planning, the guide for visiting with preschoolers and the guide to visiting with grandparents. Those will help you identify attractions that may fit the bill for everyone.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope this gives you a start on your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help!
