If we come in early November will extra magic hours in Magic Kingdom be necessary? We are considering 2 days in the park. I would like to stay at a disney resort, but a friend has a condo there for free. trying to look for the best opetions.

    Greetings Rose!

How exciting to be planning an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!  This is a great question. In 2014, I visited in early November and did not find the parks to be overly crowded. I have always found the parks to be less crowded when most schools are in session. I do love all of the benefits you receive when staying at a Disney Resort hotel; however, I can certainly understand wanting to take advantage of a free place to stay as well.

If you do decide to stay off property, you can still make FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance. I have visited Magic Kingdom Park on a day that we stayed off property for that particular weekend and was able to book most everything we wanted to experience that day. Unfortunately, I was not able to secure a FastPass+ experience for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in advance, so we went straight to that attraction at park opening in order to ride it then. If it were me, I would take advantage of the free accommodations being offered to you especially if you have two days to spend in the park. Even when staying on property, my family does not always feel it to be necessary to use Extra Magic Hours. If possible, I would also recommend avoiding Magic Kingdom Park on a day offering Extra Magic Hours if you do not stay on property.

I hope this information is helpful in making the best decision for your family. Please don't hesitate to visit us again if we can be of further assistance to you. Best wishes for a magical trip, Rose!

    Happy Planning,
