How early do I need to start makeing reservations if our family is going to WDW during Christmas time 2012? Also how are the weather and crowds? Is it more expensive to go to WDW during December? Thanks!!!

    Hi, Dana!

No time is too early to start planning your incredible vacation at Walt Disney World, particularly during the holiday season. Resort reservations may be made approximately 499 days i advance of your date of arrival, and you would certainly be nearing that window now.

You will definitely want to keep an eye on room rates, as these are subject to change without notice, and the new year might be a time for Disney to work on its pricing structure for the next year. Holiday time is considered its own "season" at Disney, meaning fewer deals and more "rack rates".

Please also be advised that holiday time is one of the busier times at Walt Disney World, but that with careful planning, you can avoid getting in crowded situations. I find that the decorations and the general holiday cheer make the other "stuff" worthwhile!

Dining reservations may be made 180 days in advance of your day of arrival. Any Cast Member at (407) W-DISNEY will be able to help you determine the start of your 180-day window, too.

Weather in Florida at that time of the year, while sometimes unpredictable, is usually gorgeous. Highs can be anywhere from the mid-high 60s, with the lows in the 40s-50s, and not a cloud in the sky,

There is so much to rave about Disney during the holidays that you'll easily lose yourself in the merriment and incredible atmosphere!

    See you later, celebrator!
