We are going in early January. I was wondering what the weather is like then? I am not sure what to pack.

    Hi Gail!

I am a 45 minute drive from Disney World.  That said, I know January weather here in Florida.  I can easily say that normal temperatures should be somewhere in the low 50s in the evenings, while it could be in the low 70s during the day.

Last year was brutal!  Temperatures were falling to the low 30s in the evenings and I remember having to buy a hat, scarf and gloves to wear one evening while I was visiting Magic Kingdom.  I suggest that you dress in layers.  You'll definitely need a jacket, gloves, hat and scarf.  Bring some sweatshirts too.  You can wear your shirt and jacket during the day, and as the sun goes down and it's getting colder, you can start adding your layers.

My friends in New York always laugh at me when I give them the same advice.  Then they get down here and have to buy clothes when they're freezing in the parks!  It never fails.

I hope this helps!  Have a fabulous time on your vacation!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
