We have been to DW 6x over the last 10yrs and are heading to DL for the 1st time this Aug! Im trying to assess the differences between parks. Tips? For the new MaxPass, can 1 user make FP for the entire fam to ensure same return times? each need MaxPasses?

    Hi, Caroline!

I am so excited to answer your question, because I, too, traveled many times to Walt Disney World before venturing out to the Disneyland Resort in California. You are in for a real treat!

The first thing you will notice that is different is that all of the Disneyland Resort (3 resort hotels, 2 theme parks, and the Downtown Disney District) along with parking are located together. That's right - no boats between theme parks or waiting at your resort for a bus to take you to a theme park. Everything is within walking distance. It really is quite convenient!

You will also find some different attractions: In Disney California Adventure you will have Mickey's Fun Wheel, California Screamin', and Radiator Springs Racers to name a few. In Disneyland Park, take a spin on the Matterhorn Bobsleds or the Storybook Land Canal Boats. My favorite thing to do, however, is to ride the same attractions you know and love from WDW, such as Space Mountain or Haunted Mansion, and look for the differences. For example, I like Pirates more at Disneyland, while I think it's a small world is better in WDW. You can decide for yourself what you enjoy more!

Disneyland does not have FastPass+ or MagicBands, but you can use the traditional FASTPASS kiosk service, or upgrade ($10 per person, per day, subject to change) to Disney MaxPass. You can add this on when purchasing your tickets or add it on by scanning your tickets and adding them to your Disneyland App. One person can book the MaxPass selections for everyone to simplify. Watch this fun video which will walk you through the whole process.

Enjoy your visit to "West Coast Mickey" and I hope to see you real soon!
