Hi! Been to DW a few times but 1st trip to DL for my family 42, 40, 12, 9. NYE is my DD 10th bday. We'll be going 12/27-1/2. Could you give us some tips to deal w/the crowds that week? Getting 4 day tix pkg and renting car for beach on NYE

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jodi-Ann. I'm excited to hear you'll be celebrating New Year's Eve with us at the Disneyland Resort. My son shares a New Year's Eve birthday with your daughter, and he too will be turning the BIG 1-0 this year!

Disneyland Resort is significantly smaller than the Walt Disney World Resort that your family is familiar with. My biggest advice to you is to expect large crowds. But the atmosphere will be festive, fun, and filled with enthusiasm and excitement! I find that when I prepare myself and my family to anticipate crowds, we tend to enjoy ourselves much more.

With that said, for safety reasons, Disneyland Park has been known to stop admitting Guests in when it reaches capacity. Historically this has happened on Christmas Day, as well as New Year's Eve. I highly recommend going into the parks early, and if you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning, that'll be even better.

Mark your calendar to make dining reservations 60 days in advance. When crowd levels are high, it's so nice to enjoy a nice table service meal to unwind. If plans change as your arrival date nears, it's easy to cancel without penalty.

I hope this information is helpful for you as you continue to plan your upcoming trip to celebrate your daughter's 10th birthday and New Year's Eve at the Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions, Jodi-Ann.

    Have a Pixie-Dusted day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
