We are DVC members and have traveled many times to WDW however this time we are coming down with our very active 10 month old son and realitves. I want to make the trip good for everyone. Any suggestions of things I might be forgetting about to pack/plan?

    Hi Jeri Ann,

I remember visiting Walt Disney World with my daughter when she was an infant, and seeing the magic through her eyes. Let me give you some tips for traveling with a baby.

Be sure to have your baby bag packed with whatever you might need when you head into the theme parks. Items such as diapers and wipes are important, but also do not forget layers if it is going to be chilly while you are there, and snacks that you know your child likes. If you have forgotten something, you might find it in the Baby Care Center. There is a Baby Care Center in each Disney theme park. They sell items such as baby food and sunscreen, and also provide a calm, quiet place to feed and change baby, as well as a nursing room with rocking chairs.

When my daughter was a baby, we tried to stay with the schedule we had at home. Our daughter needed her naps and to be in bed fairly early, so we would head back to our resort for a nap each day, and we tried to have her back in the room to go to bed early as well. You should find a portable crib like a Pack 'n Play in your villa. If you do not find one, call housekeeping to request one.

Since you mention that you are traveling with relatives, I believe that splitting up your traveling party for part of each day is generally a good idea. Chances are that everyone will not want to do the same thing all day long. If you have some in your party who want to experience more thrilling attractions, perhaps they can do this while you take your son back to your room for an afternoon nap. You also might ask if your relatives would take your son back to your villa and put him to bed early one night so that you can experience an evening out during your vacation.

I would love to help you plan further, Jeri Ann; however, I am limited in the space that I have to answer. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
