Hi! We are driving from Illinois &staying at a resort. I'm on the fence about a dining plan...I am wondering if we are able to freely come & go between the park & our resort throughout the day? May bring extra food and take breaks! Thanks you!

    Hi Mollie!

I can understand your hesitancy in adding the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) and ensuring you purchase the best plan for your family.

Personally, I love the DDP and we purchase it each time we visit. We love having the flexibility to enjoy Table Service and Quick Service meals and snacks without worrying about the cost. The DDP also allows us to experience all of the special dining experiences we enjoy without worrying about how many to book or where to go that particular day. My daugther loves to dine in Cinderella Castle, so we always book Cinderella's Royal Table. My son loves the all-you-care-to-eat food at Ohana. For us, the dining experiences are part of what makes our trip magical.

However, you can certainly visit Walt Disney World and have an amazing time without visiting the restaurants. You can bring your own food into the park and you can also leave ane re-enter the park (as long as the park hasn't reached capacity) and enjoy meals away from the park.

One thing to keep in mind though is that once you enter the park, you may not want to leave and you may get so caught up in all of the amazing attractions, parades and experienes that you don't find a good time to break for meals. It is a lot more convenient and you can save time by dining in the parks.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
