Hi. Driving down and staying at AoA. Arriving around 4pm so not going to parks this day. I'd like to take my 5yr old granddaughter on the monorail this night. Are we able w/o using park admission and if so, how/what is best way? Take bus from AoA to where?

    Hi Laura,

My husband thinks a ride on the monorail is the best Walt Disney World attraction,so we often take a monorail "tour." Here's what I suggest for your evening: Take the bus from Art of Animation to Epcot. You won't need to use a park ticket, but you will need to pass through security to reach the monorail platform.

From there, you can take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, a ride that lasts 7 or 8 minutes. You can stay on for the return to Epcot if you like, but I would exit and transfer to the Resort Monorail, which stops at the Polynesian Village Resort, the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary resort before returning to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

We like to get off the monorail at each resort to get a snack or a meal, wander through the shops and take in the lobby and grounds. It's a great way to explore the resorts and spend an evening getting into the Walt Disney World spirit.

You can catch a bus back to Art of Animation from Magic Kingdom (you won't need an admission ticket to get from the monorail to the bus) or you can take the monorail back to Epcot from the TTC and then return to the Epcot bus station.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help as you make your plans. Enjoy your visit with your granddaughter!
