We are driving to Disney World in Late Feb. for a 3y/o birthday, we are staying offsite and only going to MK for 1 day, but maybe spending time at Downtown Disney the night before. Should I buy our tickets online or there? Also curious about Fastpass.

    Hi Janet!

I love celebrations at Walt Disney World, they are always so filled with MAGIC.  In fact if I've even celebrated my Un-Birthday once.  I predict you will have such an amazing time that you will be planning your next visit on your drive home.

Since your vacation is very near, I would not risk purchasing your tickets online and having them mailed to you.  You can either purchase your Magic Kingdom tickets at Guest Relations at Downtown Disney the evening prior to your park visit or purchase them the morning of your visit at the Magic Kingdom.  I suggest to allow an extra 20 minutes to purchase tickets if you decide to buy them the morning of your visit.

The new Fastpass+ system is available to all Guests now regardless of whether you are lodging onsite or offsite.  This link for FastPass+FAQ is very helpful to understand the details of the new FastPass+ system.  Being able to select your FastPasses all at once will definitely be a benefit to you since you will have a little one with you.  Perhaps the biggest "upgrade" to the system in my opinion is that you don't have to travel across the park to get a FastPass, so it really saves you time.

Have a wonderful, joyous, Pixie-Dusted, Magic Kingdom Birthday Party!  Be sure to get a Birthday Button from Guest Relations for your little one to wear.  You never know what magic can happen!

I hope this information helps with your vacation planning.  If we can answer any more questions, please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love to help!
