We will be driving to disney and staying at a value resort. Would we be better off driving to the parks each day, or using the disney busses? Do you have to pay for parking at the parks if you are staying at a resort?

Driving vs. using Disney transportation is really a matter of personal preference.  I think much of it depends on whether or not you are traveling with small children.  My husband and I have found that because we travel with a lot of gear (multiple strollers, backpacks, diaper bag, etc.), it's easier for us to rent a vehicle and drive to the theme parks from our resort each day.  I'm also not known for my patience so the waiting on the busses is not my thing.  I definitely appreciate the convenience of walking from the theme parks at the end of a long day and getting into an awaiting vehicle.

That said, I will admit that if my husband and I were only traveling with my two oldest daughters, the busses would be a very convenient alternative.  Trying to entertain two inpatient children though, and lugging all that gear around, makes a rental car a necessity in my book.

If you'll have a vehicle on site, you might as well give the busses a try on the first day of your trip and see how well they work for your family.  If you find them to be inconvenient, use your personal car for the remainder of your stay.

If you are staying in a Disney-owned hotel, theme park parking is complimentary.  Good luck!

    Hope that helps!
