What is Downtown Disney? Would a 3-year-old find it enjoyable? From what I've read, you don't need to purchase extra tickets to visit. Can you please provide some additional details. Thanks.

    Hi Jennifer,

Downtown Disney is a shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Walt Disney World, and you are correct that you don't need a ticket to enjoy Downtown Disney.  Parking is also free at Downtown Disney.  Typically, only La Nouba and DisneyQuest have admission charges.

There are some things your three-year-old is likely to enjoy at Downtown Disney.  If he or she likes to play with Legos, then I bet you could spend quite awhile in the Lego Imagination Center.  The World of Disney store is a fun place to shop with little ones, too.  There are plenty of stuffed animals and colorful displays here, in addition to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  Goofy's Candy Company is a favorite stop among preschoolers, as is the Once Upon a Toy Store.  Depending upon the time of year you visit Downtown Disney, you may also want to take along a change of clothes for your three-year-old because there are some really cool in-sidewalk fountains through which the kids can run.  When my son was a bit younger, he loved to do that on sunny days.

Of course, there is a whole range of fun places to eat at Downtown Disney too.  Your child might enjoy making his or her own dinosaur at T-Rex before a tasty meal.  The Rainforest Cafe is another exciting restaurant for kids.

Enjoy your time at Walt Disney World!
