We will be going to downtown disney one evening after Animal kingdom closes..... I have an 8 year old girl. Do you recommend anything that you have found extremely enjoyable for that age and gender?

My own daughters are around that age (5, 7, & 9) and we love Disney Quest! Far more than an arcade, they call it an indoor interactive theme park, and that's no exaggeration! We like to spend several hours there, but could easily spend an entire day!

If you want to splurge on a night out, then Cirque du Soleil La Nouba might be just what you're looking for. If your daughter is especially restless or easily bored, then she might not enjoy it, but my daughters loved it. They were captivated by the unique performances, and sat mesmerized throughout the show.

Maybe dinner is more your thing? Consider the Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex for a very special atmosphere!

Or just walk around, and take in the sights. Lego creations surround the Lego store - even in the water! The largest Disney store on the planet is also here - World of Disney - and your daughter is sure to find a souvenir (or twenty) that she just can't live without. This store also houses a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, if she's in need of a dazzling makeover. Once Upon a Toy is a favorite stop for my girls, as well as Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shop. I personally love the Christmas and Kitchen stores, and Goofy's Candy store, and...well, I think you get the picture!

There is no shortage of fun to be found in Downtown Disney, for kids of all ages!
