Doug, You'd previously suggested upgrading to a deluxe from a moderate for the boardwalk... Family discount with Starwood for Swan and Dolphin: lose some of the benefits but get the bonus of boaordwalk for less $. It this a good way to go? (single 25yo)

    Allison,

The Swan and Dolphin hotels are both great. I have stayed at both on personal and work trips. I think the Swan is more adult in the environment, but the Dolphin can feel very posh as well. I prefer the Swan, but not by much.

I think that if the cost works out well, these are exceptionally good options! Yes, there are some lost Disney benefits, but you gain some other benefits in turn. The rooms at both have ultra-wonderful beds, especially the Westin-run Swan. And the boat/walking distance access to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and the Boardwalk makes them especially valuable.

As a single 25 year old I think that you get even better benefit. The restaurant selection and the nightlife options in the area are probably the combined overall best in all of Walt Disney World.

So yes, I think it is a GREAT way to go. Make sure you consider a park hopper ticket so that you can visit the Epcot World Showcase most nights. Send me another question with info on your cuisine and entertainment/nightlife interests and I would be glad to send you more specific recommendations.

    Have a magical vacation!
