    Hi Doug, i will be visiting Disneyworld 12\ 26-1/3 with my DS 12 and DD 23 months. Can you help me with my schedule/ what are some must see and do things. Also, what kind of clothes should we wear more summer or winter clothes? I have a 5 day basic pass.

    Nicole,

    Let's start with the weather. In December the temperature has highs in the low 70s, lows in the low 50s, with average temperature in the low 60s. What I pack is layers. I typically wear pants and something a bit heavier than a t-shirt during the day, with a jacket handy if needed. I do pack a pair of shorts and swim wear just in case it is unseasonably warm. But I don't tell my kids, as I don't want them disappointed if it remains too cold to swim. Finally, sweaters or jackets are a must in the evenings.

    Now let's talk schedules. At this time the park calendars are not yet out for December 2012, so it is hard to plan each day yet. But here are a few rules to follow;

    • The Magic Kingdom will be packed every day, but the worst day will be New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Consider going elsewhere those days.
    • Whatever park has morning Extra Magic Hours, go somewhere else. That park will be packed on that day.
    • Avoid Epcot and the Magic Kingdom on weekend days, if you can.
    • Plan at least two of your five days at the Magic Kingdom
    For now, without knowing the Extra Magic Hours for sure, I would do this;

    • December 26 - Arrival day
    • December 27 - Magic Kingdom
    • December 28 - Epcot
    • December 29 - Resort Day
    • December 30 - Animal Kingdom
    • December 31 - Resort Day
    • January 1 - Hollywood Studios
    • January 2 - Magic Kingdom
    • January 3 - Departure Day

    Write me back and we can discuss this more!

    Have a magical vacation!
