Doug, since you are the planning guru I have 2 ?'s for you. I know its possible but is it practical to park hop with DS1 & DD5. Also regarding MK is best to start there or lead up to that park? Planning to visit all 4 during our stay Oct 2010.

    Diana,

I prefer not to park hop with younger kids, since they are already getting dragged around quite a bit as it were.

HOWEVER there is one important exception. If (like my wife and I) you plan on bringing your kids back to the resort EVERY SINGLE AFTERNOON, then hopping can be a real plus. We bring our kids back for some quiet time with naps for the younger kids, and relaxation by the pool for the 4-year old.

If you are planning this "recharge the batteries" activity, then park hopping is perfectly fine. Since you are going to come back to the resort, you are not adding any travel to your plans if you choose to go to a different park in the afternoon than you did in the morning. That gives you more flexibility in your scheduling, especially related to any in-park table service meals.

As to your other question, you absolutely should start your trip at the Magic Kingdom. I am a staunch believer that it should be your first, and (if possible) also your last stop of your vacation.

I am taking my family in October too - hope to see you there!

    Have a magical vacation!
