We don't have any credit cards. Does this mean we can't make ADR's ? I read elsewhere about someone getting a password with their DP to make reservations. Wondering about that. Thank you.

    Hi, Penny!

As of October 2011, Walt Disney World is now requiring credit card guarantees to hold dining reservations. This is mostly a stopgap measure to prevent people from booking reservations and then choosing not to show up. The primary reason for holding the credit card number is that Disney reserves the right to assess a $10-per-person cancellation fee to that card if the party does not offer sufficient time before cancelling the reservation (most restaurants are 24-48 hours). The goal is to ensure that Guests are filling up tables and are not disappointing those who could not get a reservation.

I spoke to a Cast Member at (407) WDW-DINE, and she let me know that in order to purchase the Disney Dining Plan in advance, you must do so with a credit (or debit) card. The card is then on file, and the Guest can use that card to make reservations with his/her reservation number.

Give the Dining folks a call and explain your situation, Disney is known for its outstanding customer service, and I am sure that the Cast Members in Dining will do their level best to create an arrangement for you that will allow you to make reservations in advance while allowing them to adhere to their stated policy.

    Have a great trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
