Hello, we are doing a land and sea vacation. We are staying at Disney first then going on our cruise. Wondering if we can delay our ride on the magical express back to the airport from our original Disney resort the day we return from the cruise?

    Ahoy Elizabeth!

A land and sea vacation is a wonderful way to have the best of both worlds! I totally think you are doing it in the right order with the Walt Disney World vacation first, followed by your voyage on the Disney Dream

I’m assuming you’ve booked all your transportation with Disney on this trip. If so, good call! Letting Mickey do the driving for you is exactly the way I love to travel. That said, you’ll be using Disney’s Magical Express to travel from the Orlando International Airport to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. But on your return trip once you disembark, it’s Disney Cruise Line ground transportation which will take you directly from Port Canaveral to the airport. Guests must disembark the ship typically by 9:30 a.m., so that would mean a late morning arrival to the airport.

If your goal is to spend several hours at Walt Disney World because your flight is later in the day, then perhaps the better option is for you to arrange your own transportation and not use Disney Cruise Line ground transportation. Or another option: take ground transportation to the airport and check your bags with Hold My Luggage, a luggage storage service at Orlando International Airport. Then Uber or Lyft from the airport to whichever Walt Disney World theme park you choose or Disney Springs. Just make sure to verify hours of operation with Hold My Luggage so you return to the airport in plenty of time to retrieve your luggage.

Cruise back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have more questions...we'd love to help! Wishing you a fantastic land and sea vacation!

    SEA ya real soon!
