    Katrina from CO Asked

hi, we are doing an adults only trip and staying at the dolphin resort. Since you cant link magic bands to the room for purchases there, Do you suggest using more cash than cards or vice versa

    Hi Katrina!

From one Colorado girl to another...thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! MagicBands add so much convenience to a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It's so nice to be able to access your theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservations and Memory Maker account with just the touch of your wrist. While we love staying at Disney Resort hotels, we have also enjoyed trips to visit Mickey where we either stayed at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel or at Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels where we couldn't link our MagicBands to our Disney Resort hotel reservation.

When not using a MagicBand for payment, I like to carry a small amount of cash that I can use for things like Mickey balloons and bubble machines, but I also carry a credit card for the majority of our purchases. For me, this is just more convenient and secure as the vast majority of locations at Walt Disney World Resort accept major credit cards. Plus, since I always carry my identification with me, it is easy and convenient to carry my credit card and identification together. Overall, I would recommend that you use the method of payment you feel most comfortable carrying and using during your trip!

Even when we are not at a Disney Resort hotel, we still love to use our MagicBands so that we can take advantage of them to access our theme park tickets and FastPass+ reservations. It makes our day significantly easier when we don't have to retrieve our admission cards throughout the day! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
