    Jessica from VA Asked

Are there any dod contractor discounts available this year for tickets?

    Hi Jessica!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Mine is a military family, and currently Disney's fantastic U.S. Military offers, which include tickets, Disney Resort Hotel room discounts and a special rate for Memory Maker, are only available to those who are Active Duty, current Reservists or who've fully retired. In late 2018, Mickey surprised us all and did allow DoD contractors the ability to purchase the multi-day U.S. Military promotional tickets through just the end of that yEAR. This offer didn't come back in 2019, but you never know what Mickey has up his sleeves for this or future yEARs. (He was briefly a magician, you know.) Definitely 'like' and 'follow' the Disney Parks Blog across all of your social media feeds so you'll be sure to catch any new news about this and everything else that's coming soon to Walt Disney World Resort.

I'm not out of ideas yet, Jessica. Disney does offer a whole host of really great Special Offers, Deals & Discounts that are available to everyone, offers like special rates for packages to the ever popular 'Free Dining'. Definitely check hEAR as new promotions are released often. Also check with any membership clubs you happen to belong to, like AAA or even a warehouse club store as they both often have their own deals. And lastly, Military Ticket Sales offices, which are located on bases and also at Shades of Green, which is an Armed Forces Recreation Center, also sell slightly discounted 'Magic Your Way' tickets. These tickets do not follow the same 'use by' date restrictions or purchase limits like the popular Military Promotional Tickets (aka 'Military Salute') that are offered directly from Disney. While these discounted Magic Your Way tickets do need to be purchased by someone with MWR privileges (Active Duty, Reservist, Retiree, a Veteran with an updated VHIC), anyone can absolutely use them in the parks without the MilID holding purchaser present. I've gifted these tickets to friends and family a few times without me being with the users and haven't had a problem yet. To find the price list for these tickets, look up the Travel & Ticket Office or MWR website of your nearest base/post. The price list also found on the Shades of Green website should be within a few dollars of what you'll pay on base, and don't forget that these tickets don't charge sales tax!

I hope this information helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Jessica, and if you have any more questions, We're All Ears!
