Hi I have been to Dl California and love that everything is right close together. Would like to go to wdw, but really worried about long transportation between resort to parks. If I stay at AOA can you give me an idea of the route and exp time to parks

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel! We're happy to answer your questions about transportation or any other part of your Disney vacation.

There's so much to see and do at the Walt Disney World resort in Florida. It is a vast property, certainly compared to Disneyland. On our first trip to Disneyland a couple of years ago, our guide told us that all of the California property --, including California Adventure, Disneyland and the Disney hotels there -- would fit in the parking lot of Magic Kingdom!

That said, Walt Disney World has a wide transportation system that carries guests among all the parks and resorts rather efficiently, including buses, monorails and boats. The new Art of Animation resort provides bus transportation, and one of the advantages of this resort is that it does not share buses with any other resort.

On a recent visit, I noted that it took 18 minutes of travel time from the resort to Magic Kingdom and 13 minutes to Epcot. Hollywood Studios is closer, and Animal Kingdom is about the same distance as Magic Kingdom.

Buses usually arrive no more than 20 minutes apart. So, depending on your timing, you can expect to spend between 20 and 45 minutes getting from the bus stop to the entrance of a park.

We always have a car when we visit Walt Disney World because we only live about 90 minutes away, but we still take the Disney transportation everywhere while we are on the property. We find it easy and like the flexibility of switching from park to park without worrying about getting back to our parked car at the end of the day.

I hope that's helpful. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you about accommodations, dining or attractions as you consider a Walt Disney World visit. I'm happy to assist!
