    Cabryel from CA Asked

I will be going to Disneyland/Cal. Adventure for New Years Eve this year. My 1st question is: Can I get fastpasses with MaxPass for one park while I’m still at another park? 2nd: Is it even worth the money to buy a park hopper ticket on New Years Eve?

    Hello, Chabryel!

Welcoming 2019 at the Happiest Place on Earth sounds like an amazing way to kick off a new year. The Disneyland Resort theme parks will stay open later than usual and offer extra entertainment, like live performances and special fireworks shows, so it’s sure to be an exciting night in the parks! Countdown dance parties will happen in multiple locations throughout both parks, adding to the lively ambiance.

I’m glad you plan to take advantage of the ability to make Disney FASTPASS selections on the go from your mobile device! Disney MaxPass will add so much convenience to your day. Yes, you can use the MaxPass feature to make digital FASTPASS selections for attractions in Disney California Adventure Park while you’re in Disneyland Park, and vice versa! However, FASTPASS selections for popular attractions can and do run out, so plan to purchase Disney MaxPass and secure a FASTPASS for those as early in the day as possible.

Realistically, one or both of the parks may reach capacity on New Year’s Eve. That’s why it is best to arrive as early in the day as possible and pick one park to stay in for the evening. If crowds are a concern, spending time in Disney California Adventure Park might be a good choice. It tends to feel less congested because of its wider walkways and more open spaces. Plus, if you’d like to ring in the New Year with a toast, this theme park serves alcoholic beverages.

I hope this answers your questions, Chabryel. Please feel free to stop by with any others you can dream of as your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth draws near!

    Wishing you magic,
