Hi, We are going to Disneyland towards the end of the month & I notice certain attractions will not be opened. All of Mickey's ToonTown is closed. The canoe ride plus Tom Sawyer's Island. Do you know why?

Hiya Desiree, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to see you here again!

I always enjoy helping my fellow Southern Californians plan their next visit to the Disneyland Resort! As you previously mentioned, many local school districts will be back in school starting the week of August 19 and August 26, so hopefully you’ll enjoy shorter wait times for attractions when you visit!

I checked the Entertainment Schedules for the last two weeks of August, and I don’t see any closures listed for Mickey’s Toontown, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, or Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes. The only attractions that appear to be closed for refurbishment at that time are Red Car Trolley, Golden Zephyr, Hyperspace Mountain, and Haunted Mansion. If you happen to see a message of “no times available” that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s closed, just that the times may not be posted yet. So, I’m hopeful that all of your favorite attractions should be open during your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

If you haven’t already, I recommend downloading the Disneyland app – it’s a great handy helper in the parks! My family enjoys using it to check wait times, find our favorite Characters, make dining reservations, and even mobile order food and drinks.

Please stop by with any additional questions you may have… I’m all EARs!

    See ya’ real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
